MM: It’s OK to have an off day

11/16/15

|

Forget the fact that today is Monday. Monday's have their own set of reasons for not being anyone's favorite day of the week. That's a whole other blog post. No, I'm talking about any day of the week. Even a Friday or Saturday can end with you thinking 'what in the world was today all about?!'

It happens. To everyone. Some people more frequently than others. It's called an off day, or maybe even a bad day.

There are a myriad of reasons why it happens. Could be internal things like not feeling well, a headache or just waking up on the wrong side of the bed. It could be any number of relationship reasons like a morning spat with your spouse, a rude person at the gas station or someone cut you off on the way to work. It could be stress from work or, these days, stress from the world we live in.

No matter what causes our off day, it just isn't good. For you or anyone around you.

I'm here to tell you IT IS OK.

Everyone is entitled to a bad day now and then. Don't let it get to you and don't let it spill over into the next day or become a pattern. But, understand that you are human and sometimes things are just hard. Rest assured you're not the only one who has bad days. Everyone does, regardless of how they seem on social media. Try to focus on what is bumming you out or getting you down, and then work through it. Get to a point of mental resolution so you can move forward from it.

Unless you're having an off day because of a football game you're team lost, then you are absolutely right in being bummed for several days.

I kid, I kid.
