Still working full-time, Doug founded Four Columns, naming the agency after the four columns in Independence, Texas, where his alma mater originated. Doug walked away from his full-time job to focus all his energy on Four Columns. With only a few clients, Angel Fire Resort being one, a home office was sufficient for the time being. A few years later, Doug took on a local client, which turned into a full-time position at that company. Four Columns was not as active for a couple of years. While at the aforementioned company, Doug met Bryan Jaska and Matt Silva. In August, figuring they’d make a great time, Doug left the company and brought Matt and Bryan with him. They were right. Now the Four Columns was back and better than ever, Doug hired a Communications Specialist, started adding clients—including 4C’s second and third significant clients—and the team took on several website projects. Our client base started becoming centered mainly around oil and gas, specifically in the Houston area. Four Columns made a name for itself and gained traction in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We brought on the Extraco Events Center as a client, meaning that Four Columns now officially represented the biggest events in Waco each year. With the continued growth, the agency was split into different departments—Strategy, Web, Communications, Design and Photo/Video. This was a year of expansion: more clients, more projects and more staff. Frankly, 2019 was not our best year. However, it was vital because we branched out into Consumer Packaged Goods (CPGs) and more direct-to-consumer and retail clients, whereas our wheelhouse had been B2B clients. As we all know, 2020 was…interesting. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Four Columns did pretty well. We sustained a solid client base and made the best of our circumstances. Doug specifically loved the beginning of 2021 because we entered back into the Rocky Mountain area and back to his roots. Not to mention the rapid growth we got to experience. In 2022, we had our best year yet. Come along for the ride! Ready to grow?Ready for new sales?Ready for a marketing partner?Ready for unprecedented success?Ready to outperform your competitors?
