It’s the Most (Stressful) Wonderful Time of the Year: Three Tips on How to Stay On Top of Business Through the Holidays

12/18/15

|

The holidays have a way of speeding things up– deadlines, gift lists, finances and your usual work load glare at you as time ticks away. As a result, the season seems to have everyone going into survival mode, but we are here to bring back a little holiday cheer with a few tips to keep you singing “Fa La La La La” as your business booms this season.

  1. Connect

Whether it's with clients, colleagues, customers or people you wish fell into one of those categories, nurturing connections is one of the most valuable things you can do– and this is the time of year to do it! Hop on social media and say thank you for customer input or engage with your followers, take the time to have a conversation with your clients, or entice people to join your mailing list. Whatever it is, building relationships is invaluable and will continue to pay off even after the holiday rush.

  1. Be Consistent

We know things are crazy, but don't let your projects fall through the cracks. Keeping a consistent presence throughout the holidays will keep you on your audience’s mind. Sometimes this means letting go of perfection– it is better to put yourself out there with good content than wait months to get earth-shattering content out. So if that means sending out a shorter newsletter, that’s alright, the consistency will gain results.

  1. Be Proactive

It’s hard to walk away from work to celebrate the holidays during such a busy time of year, but for your own sanity you should– or at least let go a little. To do this, you are going to have to be proactive. The little things can make a huge impact in this area– stay on top of your email, evaluate where projects stand (especially ones that are usually put on the back burner) and be aware of what’s coming up. It will all pay off, we promise. At the end of it all we hope you're enjoying some eggnog by the fire with your family.
