MM: Fostering a Strong Company Culture 06/13/16 | Four Columns Marketing You’ve heard it a million times– Company culture matters. But do you know why? Your company can sink or swim based on what kind of culture your company is fostering. A strong company culture empowers each employee, whether an intern or a CEO, to strive for success with the same creative vision in mind. But, a company’s culture is often shaped by its leader, so make sure your leadership team is setting the right tone. Need ideas on how you can foster a strong company culture? We got you. Hire the right people. Strong culture, at its core, gives the entire company a sense of unity and a common vision. This sense of unity starts with hiring individuals who share the same vision and values and are passionate about working to achieve the same goals. Step away from the desk. Detach from work for a short time and bond with your team by doing fun activities, whether in the office or out. If you don’t sincerely like the people you work with, you’ll dread going to work in the mornings and you may not feel motivated to do great work. Whether it’s an afternoon at a baseball game, karaoke night, golf competitions around the office or a holiday party, spending time with your co-workers outside of work allows the team to grow as a whole. Communicate. Your employees need to understand the company’s culture and values, and why they are important. To infuse the organization with the values and vision you’ve set for your company, consistently communicate these things and show your team their role in achieving them.
