MM: 5 Ways to Hit your Peak Productivity 10/05/15 | Doug Cofer We all wake up in the morning wanting to conquer the day and cross off as many things on our to-do list as possible. Often times we become overwhelmed and distracted only to leave work feeling defeated. As we begin another week, here are some tips to help you hit your peak productivity level and end the day satisfied. Break down large tasks into small attainable ones It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you have a huge task on your to-do list. Break it down into smaller ones that will help you accomplish that looming assignment. With small steady steps, you will be able to cross it off your list in no time. Take breaks often Multiple studies have shown that your brain works best in 60-90 minute intervals. Take a walk, stretch or talk to coworkers to break up the 8-hour days. This will be more productive in the long run. Put down the phone Having infinite access to information right at your fingertips is convenient, but often a source of distraction. Every time your phone lights up or buzzes, it takes away from whatever task you are working on. Just checking a single text, email or Facebook notification can send you in a downward spiral of scrolling though social media. Check emails sparingly Responding to an email as soon as your phone buzzes may feel productive, but could be setting you behind. Set aside designated times to check and respond to emails throughout the day. Push procrastination to the side Just do it. Move the tasks you are dreading to the top of your list. This will give you a more positive outlook on your day and gets rid of the dark raincloud always following you around. We’re always looking for new ways to boost productivity and motivation around our office. Are there any tips or ideas you use on a regular basis? Let us know!
