The Week From My Desk 02/12/16 | Four Columns Marketing Happy #FriYay everyone. This week we thought we'd try something new at 4C and give you a little inside look into our real life work flow. Today follow along with Tori, our Content Strategist on staff. Hello, my name is Tori and I do lots of writing and content development strategy here at 4C. You can often find me brainstorming or dreaming about something new, sipping on La Croix sparking water or researching the latest tips and trends in content strategy. The week started off pretty bright when our Communications Director, Shelby, brought individually wrapped and personalized valentines for each of our team members. Lucky for us (and not for our waistlines) we have multiple bakers in the office so our kitchen was full of tasty baked goods this week. In light of Valentine's Day this weekend, we decided to put together a card to show our appreciation for our incredible team. Coworkers really can make or break your work experience; who you work with matters. At 4C we take time every Friday to gather together, brainstorm, learn something new and invest in the work culture of our office. In my opinion, it makes Friday afternoons much more bearable. One of the things we love most about our office is the location. We're right in the middle of developing downtown Waco on iconic Austin Ave only a hop and skip away from lots of restaurants, coffee shops and unique shopping options. One of my favorite downtown spots is the Magnolia Silos property, home to the cutest little food truck park. On Wednesdays one of the trucks offers $5 grilled cheese sandwiches to Wacoans, so obviously we had to take advantage of the offer. Follow @CheddarBoxWaco on Instagram for more info about their Wednesday specials. After enjoying a quick lunch in sunny 70 degree weather on Wednesday, we headed back to the office to meet with one of our local clients, the Waco Downtown Farmer's Market. This past week we signed two new local clients. We love getting to be a part of the development of this city and enjoy building relationships with other businesses in our community. One of the projects our team worked on this week included putting together some training materials for another client - we do a little bit of everything here at the office, even book binding! One thing we value at 4C is our work space. It's important to us to have a space we enjoy that boosts rather than inhibits our productivity levels. This week I decided to freshen up the wall space behind my desk with some new prints. Like what you see? Check out Cult Paper Shop for more prints and stationary. I'm a sucker for prints, stationary and most organizational products and tools. One of my go-to's is the Whitney English Day Designer planner. This planner isn't an ordinary calendar - it has pages to help you prioritize your tasks, set goals and due dates, list things you're thankful for, and provides space to jot down appointments, notes and things to remember. I'm a big fan. Stay tuned next month to follow along with another one of our 4C members and enjoy celebrating Valentine's Day this weekend!
